Did you know that today is adoption Sunday. Did anyone's church do anything on adoption today?

I'm not a churchgoer so can't answer your question. Thank you for posting, I had no idea there was an adoption Sunday.

I had no idea either. We celebrated All Saints but I can see how I could do both if I had known. Maybe next year.

No, but our Catholic church has a heavy contingent of older Irish people.

I don't think it would have stirred up feelings of hope and warmth if they'd started mentioning adoption in connection with the church at mass.

We did! We prayed for some families in our church - one currently being assessed as foster careers, another single lady also going through the fostering process, who has already adopted a little boy from Uganda, a family who adopted two chi,drew a coup,e of years ago and another family going thought the adoption process. The children's groups learned about how God wants us to look after widows and orphans and how he loves us all the same. Grin

Xochiquetzal it was the Sunday at the start of adoption week.
