I've read a number of his books and his writing style
really
irritates me.

It took a while to work out what he was writing about as I don't come to the books with a conservative American Protestant world view but he is thoughtful and has an interesting way of asking questions.

What did you like about the book?

Lol yes
he does
do
that

And I didn't like the way he commented "amazing" all the time.

But i have been thinking a lot about how we can base our religion on the bible and yet not agree with some of it, like attitudes to gays. I do find good stuff in that protestant worldview. But then they are so intolerant in many ways which seems wrong. Anyway only the other day I read that verse about binding and loosing as he called it and I was already thinking about it, so his explanation of this really spoke to me. So I felt this was the key to modern christians being biblically allowed to radically reinterpret scripture.
There is quite a lot more I liked in this book I am going to reread some of it.
