Very bad nightmare left me feeling very unsettled this morning. Please help?

i dreamt that both my dd's died (i know dying is supposed to mean new begining, i think?) my eldest went first and then my 2nd i went to the ground where they were buried tho i dont know how they died or burying them (had a feeling/ smell of smoke so maybe fire?)
and dd2 came back to life but i was told by someone (dont know who) that just because dd2 came back doesnt mean dd1 would she was gone forever and i needed to say goodbye so i asked my gran (who has passed) to look after her for me and then i felt a strange sense of peace but obv still distraught but felt a bit better that someone i knew was looking after her.
someone told me that dd2 would only stay alive if i waved to someone on her 1st birthday. [puzzled emoticon]

very very strange and i dont understand it at all. just wondered if anyone can shed any light?

no unable to shed any light I'm afraid, dreams can be so weird, I have had dreams before about my ds dying, even arranging his funeral and everthing, someone told me that I was getting upset about him growing up as he wasn't a baby anymore and I was scared of losing him ???????

I has a dream last night that dh told me he was having an affair - must collar him later over that one.

i've had dreams like this - that i die, my kids, my husband, etc.

it's the brain trying to make sense of things.

I agree, it's just the brain dealing with horrible stuff that you can't process by day. I suspect most of us hav edreams like this, but we don't always remember them.

Big hugs though, dreams can be so real that the emotions you have in them stay with you for days. When I was little I had a dream that I watched my dad being murdered, and I was so traumatised I remember withdrawing from him for weeks. Thirty odd years on and he's still with us!

I can't answer what your dreams mean, but as a child growing up I used to get recurring nightmares. The way I dealt with them was when I woke up, to think of a happier ending. It got to the stage where I would actually go back into the dream and dream the new ending, which was pretty cool! In the end, the dreams stopped coming, so I guess what I did worked!

Hope you don't get too many of these, I always find my dreams are so vivid, that VERY occasionally I've been confused as to whether they actually happened IRL, for example, if I dreamed I told somebody something...
