Children's Prayer

Does anyone have a format for a prayer suitable for a children's service? My son's Cof E Sunday School class is taking the family service and he ( meaning me) have been asked to do the prayers. As far as I can work out it can be anything! The main message is people in the Old Testament.

I would suggest prayers for the world (including peace, natural disasters, poverty and starvation), prayer for the church, prayer for the sick, prayer for those who are sad/lonely/under pressure, thanksgiving/sorry type prayers, prayer for our family and friends. Even if there is a theme to the service, unless it is natural to include that theme, it makes the prayers seem forced if you include the them just for the sake of it, in my opinion. But I guess you could pray to be faithful like Abraham, loving like Hannah, etc.
What age is your son? You could suggest the subjects for prayer above and ask him what he would say to God on those themes, and turn that into a prayer, that way he is writing them.

You might find something helpful in the resources on this site. They have quite a lot of good ideas for doing prayers in creative and different ways.

Thank you both. I'll have a go. DS is 4. I will write it and then see if he wants to add a few ideas too.
