I know that a few MNers are christian and tehre a few who find their peace in different ways. How do you find yours? ie...u worship god in a christian way and he in return gives u peace in your heart
that sort of thing

Think there are a great many more than a few Christians on here...and lots and lots of other faiths as well.

Never thought of worhshipping God as being a trade-off for peace.

in the bath

mosschops30 · 19/06/2006 21:37

sorry it doesnt work like that, having faith does not bring you inner peace, only you can do that

MerlinsBeard · 19/06/2006 21:38

i think i phrased that completely wrong! never mind...forget it.....and i know there are more than that on MN but u have only come across those i mentioned

MerlinsBeard · 19/06/2006 21:42

The yurt is lovely MoM. It's on this section near the top of the list. The Yurt in blossom it's called just now. There have been others too... The Land Where The Bong Tree Grows was another.. you need to be able to visualise, but that's easy.. just wishful thinking Grin

SleepyJess · 19/06/2006 21:45

I strongly urge you to give \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0340693258/sr=1-4/qid=1150749881/ref=sr_1_4/026-5003700-6458846?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=books&v=glance\this book} a go MoM. It's not religious clap trap. It changed the way I think about everything...

mosschops30 · 19/06/2006 21:50

i'm not quite as up on it all as others here but i do go on retreats which I find help me find sanctuary and answer all the questions I have about life in general

I meditate to find inner peace and sit under the moon when I want to commune with something higher and give thanks.

MerlinsBeard · 19/06/2006 21:58

really St G? give thanks to the moon? haven't come across taht before. I have been looking into lunar erm 'ness' recently and was amazed at what the moon does!

I believe that it is important for all of us to take the time to reflect on what is most important in life--peace and harmony for ourselves, our loved ones and the world. It is an opportunity to look inward and make peace with ourselves... To learn to love and accept ourselves... To heal and nurture ourselves. Once we have cultivated our own inner peace, we can then share our healing love and peace with those most dear, and offer our very best selves to all the world!
Inner peace does not involve GOD IMO as we need to love ourselves first before we can love anyone else properly - even GOD.
You say you are cross at Him at the moment. His love is unconditional and He loves you at all times irregardless of how you feel about Him or how you worship Him.
He will be there to listen to you whenever you need Him to.

SaintGeorge · 19/06/2006 22:18

I don't actually give thanks to the moon as such. I use the moon as a symbolic representation of a higher power.

For me the Sun represents the male aspect (God) and the Moon represents the female (Goddess).

MaryBS · 20/06/2006 07:27

Personally I find my Christian faith gives me peace, and a whole lot more besides. It wasn't always like that, but I know I couldn't do it on my own (I tried! :o)

MOM you haven't said why your angry but I went through several years of being angry too. Mine was anger because of a situation I found myself that I had no control over and many family issues. I continued to have faith but no "inner peace". I eventually found "inner peace" by letting go of the anger inside me and letting go of all the reasons why it was there. It was eating and festering away at me so much. I discovered more about spirituality and have found peace through that too. HTH
