Hi there... I'm not Jewish (sorry), but just felt sad when I read your thread that you were worried about rude comments, so am just posting to offer a big friendly multi-faith greeting till someone better able to reply to your query comes along.

This recent thread has attracted some Jewish posters, but I am pretty sure, from previous threads, that there are others out there.

Thank you nice to hear from people who are open minded about religion. I'm normally quite active on other threads so name changed for this just in case of bad reactions, you never know how people are going to react when you say what religion you are!!!

Lmbg - I agree that there's a lot of weird stuff about Jews on MN. Generally ranges from the friendly through the innocent ignorant to the gullible and the malicious.

I'm Jewish. I've not seen many anti-semitic comments on MN.

(Anti-zionists views and anti-circumcision views are quite common, so best not to get in any discussion about them on AIBU).

I'm agnostic but very interested in all religions and would never judge someone for their faith or lack thereof!

I haven't seen much specific anti-Jewish feeling on MN, but there is a fair amount of assumption that atheism is the only "normal" way of life and that any religious belief is odd and a sign that you are unable to cope with life without some kind of crutch. Oh and comments about having an "imaginary friend", or how it would be just as sensible to believe in pink unicorns.

But those are usually aimed at religion in general, or Christianity since that is more common and people get aggrieved by the state expressions of it, with religion in schools, Bishops in the House of Lords etc.

If you want to chat about it, you'd probably be best starting up a threadwith a more obvious title in this section to pull people in.
