It's Pentecost - experiences of the Holy Spirit
Does anyone want to share any good experiences of the Holy Spirit?
I had an amazing experience a while back of laughing in the spirit. I was praying with friends during a kind of Sozo meeting www.bethelsozo.org.uk/
My dear friend who has known me for two years and helped me through my overeating problem, which stems back for about 20 plus years, has been encouraging and praying with me. Now she has trained in Bethel Sozo prayer ministry and so her and another friend have prayed with me.
They asked what gift I felt Jesus wanted to give me and I said 'peace'. This was a total surprise because I am actually a fully on the go type of person and not a peaceful person at all!
After a while of praying she asked about the peace and I got this amazing experience of laughing in the spirit. It was really funny and nice, like I was having a laugh and not taking myself too seriously. I felt a real sense of peace. Since then my eating patterns have become more normal and I have more self control when it comes to eating.
I am a firm believer in ?the proof of the pudding is in the eating? (excuse the food based idiom!) but what I mean is that a spiritual experience is not just a good cry or a good laugh but something good comes out of it. For me it was a good laugh but what came out of it was some real help with an area of my life that was a problem area.
Anyone else feeling blessed this Pentecost?
