Confirmation gift from someone not religious

One of my dd's closest friends is getting confirmed Roman Catholic this weekend. DD has asked if she could get her a gift as well as the card she has made. DD wanted to buy her some sweets, but we have settled on a small teddy and a home-made card. I am starting to get nervous that this will look odd as it isn't a religious type gift. Will this look odd?

Not at all odd. That sounds lovely and very thoughtful of your dd.

Thanks chipmonkey- I was having a slight wobble that they would think we hadn't put much effort into it- but its dd's present to her friend rather than as a family so I'm going to stick with it. Her friend was late for school this morning- so we didn't see her line up. I'm going to take it in when I do school pick up :)
