Catholic baptism at age 5?

Just wondering about it. :)

I am not a Catholic but DH is, and we've decided to raise our son as a Catholic. He will be baptized some time in the next few months.

However, he's five. I've only ever seen infant or adult baptisms. How will it work with a five year old? Will he answer the questions on his own?

Depending on the priest, he might be allowed to answer for himself, but as he's deemed to be under the age of reason (7 or thereabouts), then I would expect parents and Godparents to answer the question. My 2 nieces were baptized in the Catholic church, one of them was 5, but they didn't do it for themselves.

That's what I thought, thanks. :) Though DS is quite a...gregarious....little boy. :o
