No news at the moment since the last update.

I will post it again here in case anyone missed it tho.

"Aillidh update: slight improvement in xray. Bronchoscope and lavage done. She is comfortable and sedated. Plan is to leave her on vent a few days and find out what is going on inside her lungs with results of bronchoscope/lavage. Please, please keep praying. Your prayers, thoughts, vibes and anything are keeping her and us going. We are buoyed by everyone's strength and hope. Her grandmother is here now and her maternal grandparents will be here on Monday."

Glad there seems to be some improvement. Thinking of the whole family lots.

Jux - normally you'd want to see sats 95% or greater but 91% is OK for an ITU patient.

pepperrabbit · 02/07/2012 11:03

Well done Ailidh.
Jux I googled this - "Depending on context, the term "sats" usually can mean Oxygen Saturation levels. You may have had a pulse oximeter on your finger while getting health care at some point. It's a little device on the end of your finger with a glowing light. It's measuring your "sats." Normal ranges of SP02 levels are 90%-100%, ideally above 95%. Oxygen saturation is a measure of how much of the hemoglobin in the patient's blood is carrying oxygen."
Though the first time I got "the health benefits of satsumas Hmm

Have just caught up...had no internet all weekend, but Aillidh has never been far from my thoughts.

Great to hear that there has been a small improvement - every little bit helps Smile

Have lit another candle, sending love and positive thoughts to everyone x

tomatoface · 02/07/2012 11:12

if I'm back in time will light a candle at 12.00, if not will light one when I get back but will join you at 12.00 with positive thoughts for more improvement

MrsSawyer · 02/07/2012 11:14

keep going, stay strong x

Northernlurker · 02/07/2012 11:15

I think it's important not to get too concerned about what's 'normal'. Aillidh's condition means that 'normal' may not really be on the same page as her atm but what she needs to be is stable and improving. That's what we seem to have at the moment.

MrsSawyer · 02/07/2012 11:16

just a thought, but would you consider reading her this thread, just letting her know how many people are thinking of her and willing her to get well again, might help?

mummylin2495 · 02/07/2012 11:24

happy to see that there has been a little positive step, may this continue.

johnworf · 02/07/2012 11:44

Brilliant, some good news! Keep going little one xxxxx

EduStudent · 02/07/2012 11:54

Let's hope this is the first of many glimmers. Even the dawn has to start with the smallest of glimmers.

Candles lit here.

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 02/07/2012 11:58

Hey well done Aillidh, you are working so very hard, keep on trying, you have people all over the World thinking of you. :)

StateofConfusion · 02/07/2012 12:24

Well done Aillidh!

A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, let's hope this small step is the start of her journey to health, picnics and life :)

Sirzy · 02/07/2012 12:25

I would say sats of 91 in this situation seems pretty good. When DS was in HDU It was a case of being happy getting them sat above 90. Let's hope the improvement continues.

ilovesprouts · 02/07/2012 12:49

Hey well done Aillidh xx

justonemorethread · 02/07/2012 12:51

Dear Ailidh,
Do you know how special you are? You have brought so many people together. You have restored my faith in prayer.
There is so much for you to look forward to. Going to school, seeing your friends.
Playing with your siblings.

Remember what it was like to feel well, and strong? Try to hold that thought. You can have that again, just let your body keep on healing.

We are all rooting for you.

PlasticFlamingo · 02/07/2012 12:52

Not been online all w/e but been worrying and praying.

Heart lurched when I read of bad news yesterday, and now leaping again with this morning's good news.

Come on A - you can do it. If we could all spare 1% of our energy and life for you we'd be doing it and you'd be overflowing. Keep fighting sweetheart, you're needed still. x

Love to all the family too, and supporters. You're all doing a fantastic job. x

Mirage · 02/07/2012 13:15
