Feast of St Anthony the Wonderworker today

Hi,
I often say this prayer but it should be very powerful today as it is St Anthny's feast day. It has never failed me.
O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God
and Charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on
earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on
your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in
trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore
of you to obtain for me (request). The answer to my prayer
may require a miracle. Even so, you are the saint of
Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full
of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the
Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms, and
the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.

Amen.

I hope it helps someone else.

Hi there

I actually forgot about the feast day until I read this thread in the early hours of the morning.

Near my house there is a shop that sells candles of the saints. I have bought the St Anthony and St Jude ones in the past. They are encased and have a picture of the Saint on the front and a prayer on the back. I find using these helps me concentrate more on the prayer if you get my meaning?

They are made by a company called Cromo. They have a website. I have several, including one for the Infant of Prague. The shop sells novena books too. It always make me laugh when I go to the shop. It is in Kilburn. It is your typical newsagents/off licence but you have a big section of religious statues, rosary beads, books, candles etc for sale. The shopkeeper is Asian, and whenever I purchase something, he becomes very solemn and starts to wrap the item ever so carefully in brown paper. It is so nice and lovely to see. I think he is trying to show he is respectful of other religions!
