What does it mean? I am referring to RC

Original Sin, Adam and Eve and the idea that resulting generations can carry guilt from previous wrong doings.

"O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low." Psalm 79:8

Or even;

Don't hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.

I'm not sure about 'great mercy' as the killing of the first born of Egypt always struck me as being cruel and vile.
