Anyone heard of, got any experience / understanding of G12?

There is a huge story behind this request but one I won't bore you all with. Was wondering if anybody has any experience at all with this G12 thing - I'm afraid I know next to nothing about it other than it was started by a bloke in Bogatah (I know I haven't spelt that correctly! who apparently had a vision about how the church should be run. Anyone go to a G12 based church or have any knowledge of it at all? I'm desperately trying to 'research' this as it's affecting my family atm. Thank you x

It seems to be a pretty well laid out history of what G12 is all about.

I have to say that cell churches have been around for ages but I've never heard of G12 until you mentioned it. I'm a bit sceptical by the number of sites claiming that it's a worldwide phenomenon. It looks like it could just be restricted to the more charismatic swinging from the rafters type Christian churches rather than and average congregation.

Personally I'm somewhere in the middle and worship at an small independent church.

At first glance (although I'll dig deeper and ask dh) it doesn't seem like a cult, but it does look pretty intense with a lot of motivational jargon and trappings that don't sit right with me.

A cell church is just a group of Christians that meet primarily in small groups and then get together as a bigger group every so often. But give it a flashy name like "THE G12 PHENOMENA!!!!" and alarm bells start to ring.

Thank you mcmudda, I don't want to say anything out of turn as I don't understand it enough, but it is having a very negative effect on members of my family.
