Hope Im posting in the correct place!
Someone I have met just once has recommended a book called 'The Secret' to me. Im at a crossroads in my life, which he would have no clue about and it's like it was meant to be.
I have started to read it and its very inspiring.
Anyone read this or know anything about it?

Yes, I've watched the DVD - it's really a variation on a particular New Age theme of 'manifesting'. Personally, it can be an eye-opener; I just don't like the angle of approach. But each to his own.

Thanks for your message.

What do you mean by 'angle of approach'?

I've read the book, and I have the iPhone app!

I think the basic message about the law of attraction is a good one, and I believe it can work. I also think that even if it doesn't work exactly as it says, it's basically promoting happiness through positive thinking which can only be a good thing.

However I think the whole thing goes a bit too far in its mission to make a whole book out of what could be said in a couple of pages. I like the book a lot, but I think it could be cut down by half without losing anything.

I don't like the approach either...the idea of drawing people into spirituality by promisiing that they'll get rich (financially) just diesn't sit right with me, although I Do believe in what thesensortnof books are saying. I just avoid the ones that promise riches rather than wholeness and wellbeing.

What FlamingoBingo said. Flow first, money/things second, imo.
