PP too busy

I have had my instruction and was hoping to be admitted to the Catholic Church just before Easter, but I'm finding the PP is too busy. He has two churches to look after and I keep receiving evasive emails - he does this to everyone, not just me. It's not my regular church, but my PP is sick and undergoing treatment (hospital), so he can't do it.

The lady who did my instruction is lovely and said she would like to be there when I'm admitted, but I have been thinking that I might need to go to the retreat centre and see one of the priests there who offered me help a while ago. I know he's not as busy and the parish isn't as big. I could be admitted at their church, but then my friend would miss it as it's about 20 miles away and I don't like to be cheeky and suggest it. I've already put her out enough by getting all this instruction and they're getting on and it's quite a drive into the countryside.

What should I do? I think the retreat centre would be better, as I'm familiar with the place and know some of the people there.

I am a bit Shock at the Priest sending evasive emails. You'd think he would want to encourage church growth by being a bit more, well, encouraging.

Why don't you talk it over with your instructor and see what she thinks... after all she may be prepared to travel 20 miles especially if you help out with her transport?

I'm no expert, but I think you should go where you feel welcomed and included.

Have you tried phoning or making an appointment to speak to him? - I've known priests who are not particularly fluent over e-mail and are not always at their best via e-mail!

He's just emailed me and said I can go for confession tomorrow. Phew. It's not going to be my regular church after admission to the church.
