Significance of Owls?

Allboxedin · 29/02/2012 07:15

Thoughts please. I am trying to search for some answers in relation to our upbringing. My parents had owls everywhere and the house was called 'owl cottage'
I have written a different thread on the sexual abuse and emotional/control stuff that was happening in another forum, I am just trying to make links I guess.
Anyway my parents were supposedly 'christians' and it was not until I went to West Africa that I realised what their significance was there and in other countries. But what of here in western countries?
I am wondering if they were involved in anything else? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Athene's bird was the owl and she was the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. Does that help?

Allboxedin · 29/02/2012 07:42

Hi Horupu, yes, I knEw it is also seen as a bird of wisdom, wasn't sure why though. Thanks

It looks as though it depends where you are in the world whether an owl is a good or bad thing to hear/see.
