I've just started going to church with DD (4). She has asked what 'Peace be with you' means. Any ideas of a good, child friendly answer?

That's really hard when you come to think of it!

Am going to think about it a bit more. Or I'll just start waffling online.

have a happy day/life?

suppose it depends on what it means to you

could you not say 'well to me it means those times when I am just totally happy and it brings with it a kind of quiet ... do you have moments when everything feels just right? well that's peace'

It's a standard greeting in Paul's letters, so using it in church is a good way of staying 'connected' with all the Christians through the years.

John 14:27 is all about Jesus giving us peace. It says "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Would your dd take that as any explanation?
