Spent the evening discussing Buddhism, and was wondering about spiritual aspects

Is there any spirituality found in Buddhism?

Prayer wheels and flags, who or what are they directed at?

Can you really levitate during meditation, or is it really more of a description of what happens when your being reaches a higher "sphere", rather than the body actually raising from the ground?

That's a lovely subject to talk about for an evening!

If the body did rise from the ground (because you had built up psychic energy), you would ignore it. Buddhism is about throwing off the bonds of ignorance, not developing magic powers.

There are many good books that could serve as an intro to Buddhism. I suggest Reflections On A Mountain Lake: Teachings on Practical Buddhism by Tenzin Palmo, an English woman who became a Tibetan Buddhist nun.
