You could try and find a registered practitioner from the lists here . These are members of the UK Reiki Foundation, and have signed a code of ethics, have Reiki practitioner insurance, and hold Reiki certificates.

I got attuned in Feb 04 to use it on my DH who has very painful psoriatic arthritis. I use it to good effect (on my kids too with aches and pains). I can feel it working.. my hands get very hot. I self treat too.

How long does it take to "train" ?

I have only done Reiki1. It took one day. No actual training.. just an attunement. (Preceded by a 'meditation' - of sorts - I can't successfully meditate properly - and following by practicing on my friend.. my attunement partner.)

I camr straight home and treated my mum for her sinisitus. It worked. She was amazed! (So was !)
