Prayer and positive thinking thread for Cupofteaplease Monday October 3rd

Northernlurker · 02/10/2011 13:20

Cupofteaplease gave birth to her daughter Beatrice just over two weeks ago. From birth it has been clear that Beatrice has some serious medical issues. Tomorrow (Monday) Cupoftea and her dh will be seeing the medical team to learn what they know so far. What we all know already is that Beatrice is a determined and beautiful soul, loved and treasured by her valiant parents and affectionate sisters.

I am a Christian. I believe in the power of prayer and I thought it would be an idea to set a thread aside to pray for them tomorrow. If you are not a praying person please do still join with us because Cupoftea needs support. We need to stand with her whatever our spiritual position.

I thought we could do it between 12 and 1 tomorrow and if people would sign up for five minutes a piece then we have a prayer/thought chain going (will need to set my calendar at work!)

Points for focus

Strength for Cupoftea and her dh

Wisdom and compassion in the hearts of the medical team

Comfort and peace for little Bea and for her sisters

Energy and knowledge and empathy for all their friends and family as they support them

Thanksgiving - for Beatrice.

Please cut and paste to sign up for a slot. If we end up with more people than slots please add more or sign up for the same time as somebody else it really doesn't matter.

I'll be at work tomorrow and don't know when I'll be taking my lunch so can't commit to a time slot. Lots of prayers though for Beatrice and her parents.

ReindeerBollocks · 02/10/2011 21:44

I'll take 1:20 if it's free?

Good luck tomorrow for Cup and Bea xx

shall be praying as and when, too

PacificDogwood · 02/10/2011 22:46

I cannot commit to a time tomorrow, but will be praying when the darling DSs are quiet for 5 minutes I can.

My thoughts have been with cupoftea and her family often since I lurked on her first thread after Beatrices's birth. I just had no words, but prayers I do have

MaryBS · 03/10/2011 06:04

Will pray also

bananarama05 · 03/10/2011 06:40

Just typed a big long post on cup's original thread and it is now full so didn't post and I lost it, grr!

I've been following since the start but am rubbish with words ans couldn't find a way to say what I wanted.

I still can't really but have spent all weekend thinking of cup and little Bea. I truly hope you begin to get some answers today. I'm not religious myself so won't say a prayer for you but will certainly be thinking of you and your family.

Sending you all the luck and strength in the world. x

Northernlurker · 03/10/2011 08:14

Off to work now so just bumping this for anybody else who would like either tot take a time slot or pray as and when. Please add times from 1.20 or add your name to an earlier time if that suits better.

I am praying for Cup, Beatrice, their family and everyone who loves them.
I can't promise a specific time, but will pray and wish them strength.

TCOB · 03/10/2011 12:50

An intensive prayer at 12:40-45 from here but thinking of that amazing love-filled family in every quiet moment.

A little late but have sent up some strong (and I hope powerful)thoughts for the whole family.

blackeyedsusan · 03/10/2011 13:18

praying that cup/oh will be able to understand what the consultant says and be able to think clearly to make decisions. praying that the consultant will be clear and accurate. praying that cup will get support in rl and that they will be able to cope with news received.

eaglewings · 03/10/2011 13:32

Prayed in the car park of the local farm shop along the same lines as blackeyesusan

LeoTheLateBloomer · 03/10/2011 13:34

Thankfully DD played ball and slept as planned, allowing me some quiet time to pray. Have also been thinking about the family all day and will continue to include them in my prayers.

sleepysox · 03/10/2011 14:11

Prayed while I was in the forest. Lovely and peaceful. Will carry on now, whilst DS is napping.

bintofbohemia · 03/10/2011 14:19

Am not Christian but I do believe in the power of prayer and collective prayer/thoughts/love. Have just prayed for the family.

YougreatPamplemousse · 03/10/2011 14:29

Have done my little 5 minutes - it was wonderful to just take 5 minutes out of my day to sit quietly and take the time to focus Cup, Bea and their family.

This thread had made me realise I need to make more time in my days for moments of prayer like today's. Thank you Northern for giving me the prod back into things.

feelingabitfedup · 03/10/2011 14:32

I've added my prayer for them too and I believe firmly in the power of prayer.
Wish them well and echo yougreatpamplemousse's observations.

GilbonzoTheSecretPsychoDuck · 03/10/2011 14:39

I was driving home from a job during my prayer slot. I hadn't noticed the time but I suddenly felt a real need to find a decent church near me and get my christian life back on track. After I'd thought about this for a while I realised that I should be praying so I was a bit late but cup and Bea have been in my thoughts frequently throughout the days since she first posted.

So, like Pamplemoose, I want to thank you Northern for giving me the opportunity to pray for someone who is in desperate need but also for giving my christian self a kick up the backside.

cupofteaplease · 03/10/2011 15:43

Thank you so much for thinking of us, and praying for us, today. I have continued Beatrice's story [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/special_needs/1313243-A-thread-for-Beatrice-Because-a-life-filled-with-love-is-a-life-worth-living here]

cupofteaplease · 03/10/2011 15:44

Sorry, here

Northernlurker · 03/10/2011 17:56

Great to read your update. I did my five minutes at 12 and I went outside and felt filled with a sense of how BIG God is, how much He can do and so I prayed for a miracle. To come home and read that you left feeling at peace really does feel like an abundant answer to prayer and I want to thank YOU because your posts gave me a kick too, that we all need sometimes, to bring things to our Father.

Also want to thank everybody who signed up - it's so lovely to feel part of a praying community praying at one time like this for one family.

I have only just seen this but I will now be keeping cupoftea and Beatrice in my prayers. x
