Another question about Catholicism

ds1 has told me that Catholic children need to choose a saints name as their middle name when they receive first communion.

Is this correct and will it still apply to ds1 who is 12 and is just becoming a Catholic? He quite likes the idea of this, but I don't know whether it will apply to him.

Not in my experience.

You choose a saints name when you are Confirmed, not when you make your First Holy Communion.

basingstoke · 14/07/2011 22:05

And you can choose your own name then if you prefer. I didn't. I went for a saint.

hiddenhome · 14/07/2011 22:09

Oh, it's confirmation. I was getting mixed up I think Confused

thanks for that Smile

It is for Confirmation: My Dh chose Luke, as in Luke Skywalker!
