I did it - I got baptised today!!!

And it was amazing! I was a bit nervous giving my testimony but it all went really well and lots of people said that they could tell it was really 'from my heart'. The sun even came out briefly for the actual baptism in the outside pool. I feel so .............. joyous

Oh and 20 people who don't normally go to church came along to support me as well as all the friends I have in the church itself. And my parents (who live in another country to me) watched over the internet. It was just incredible to share such a special day with people I love.

Oh wow wowie. That sounds top. Did you feel all tingly with that happiness feeling when you can face anything and be on top of the world?

What was your testimony about?

Yes I feel amazing and peaceful (and more than a little bit tingly). There is a lot going on in my life at the moment and I feel like I can face it all.

My testimony was about the joy that knowing God brings, about how its nothing you can buy, how it transcends the temporary happiness brought about by material things. And how I came to find that happiness and peace through asking Jesus into my life. It was also about gratitude - thanking God for all the blessings I do have and for not giving up on me, even when I wanted to give up on myself.

Oh and another lovely thing was my daughter (13) and a Christian for only about 6 months came up to me after my testimony and gave me a huge hug in front of everyone and said she was very proud of me!!

Oxo, that's great news - it is wonderful to hear peoples testimonies; I know it had a big impact on me during the Alpha course. It's amazing to think how much our lives have changed in the last year.

Yes congratulations from me too! So many of my friends are non believers, chasing happiness in material things. I wish they could realise there is only one path to lasting happiness. So pleased you've found it ! You will still experience ups and downs in life - God doesn't give Christians exemption - but the huge difference now is knowing that God is right beside you !
