Strange one but i need to know the etiquette for a male when he meets the Dalai Lama. Does he bow or what? I know he should address him as Your Holyness.

Yes, you would bow when you meet His Holiness. Actually, you keep a low bow all the time you are in his prescence as the etiquette calls for your head to be lower than his at all times. Now, you may be tall and that may not be possible so you keep the low bow as a gesture of respect.

Your hands should be pressed together, like praying, as a mark of respect and you should smile. You would call him "Your Holiness".

His Holiness doesn't really go for the full etiquette thing, he is very humble, so please don't worry if you think you aren't doing it right!

How very, very fortunate you are to have the opportunity to meet him. He is a wonderful person. I hope you enjoy the experience.

I've met him, he gave me a 'high five'. I wouldn't worry too much as he's really a chilled, nice guy.
