I want to know what will happen at the end of humanity

I know this is a bit odd but as we all know that life existed before humans and it will go on after the last human dies, I want to know how humanity will be wiped out. I know I am a bit odd but I just feel like part of a long story that I will never know how it ends.

I think that as the sun warms up (gradually, before becoming a red giant), the composition of the atmosphere will alter to an extent that plants will no longer thrive and eventually liquid water will disappear.

That is of course if we don't wipe ourselves out first.

We have another billion years to go until changes in the sun fry earth's atmosphere. Assuming the speed of technological development of the past decade keeps up, humanity will have spread across the solar system and beyond well before then. So the death of the Sun will very probably not mean the death of humankind.

Although it is debatable whether this humankind will have much of a resemblance to us. There are fascinating books on this subject, predicting a singularity in the next couple of decades beyond which we cannot even predict.

Modern humans have been around for about 40,000 years - does anyone really believe this species will still be here in 3-4 billion years time?

Bacteria are another matter!
