Hi there HB! I didn't see this until after I posted on the other thread. It was so, so lovely. After we opened the circle I went over what I had been meditating about over the last two weeks and talked about Yemaya and what type of energy she represents. We all swirled this fabulous smelling oil in the water (full moon water from 2 months ago) that I had poured into the scrying bowl. Then we meditated on positive loving energy.

for the second part of the ceremony we all talked about someone special who had passed over. It was just a wonderful experience. I wish you could have been there!

Yes, I'm in TN. We try to have it outdoors on my deck but it was just a little too cool so we moved it inside. Here is a good web page on Yemaya. She is a great mother goddess, very nurturing and protecting, especially of children.

One thing I like to do when meditating in a ritual is to focus on the way the smoke from the incense interacts with the flame of the candle and what possible messages that could be sending to me. What I got last night was that, initially the smoke really assaulted the flame. But, the flame hardly wavered. It got shorter a few times, but not by much and stayed nice and steady. The assaults became fewer and farther apart, until the smoke became more faint and didn't interfere with the flame at all.

My interpretation of this is that the goddess energy will take several "hits" from those in mankind who are negative, but the positive goddess energy will persevere, until finally the negative energy essentially gives up in the face of a stronger rival

That links great ty

I like your interpretation too, really similar to what i would have thought

Oh, and I did think of you during the ritual HB. One of the group did tarot reading for each of us before we opened the circle. I had never had my cards read before. I was quite impressed!

HuggyBear · 01/11/2005 18:57

Awe

I love tarot cards, I have a couple of sets of oracle cards (doreen virte ones) but although i read fine with them they get frustrating cause they are so nicey nice and positive - that sounds so mean lol

I really like medicine cards - i like everything lol

I liked it so much I'm thinking of getting a set. Will ask my friend what kind she has and see if they are like yours.

HuggyBear · 01/11/2005 19:00

My new ones are guidence with fairies, they are nice lots of purples and greens

The messages from angels cards are very pretty but they have too much writing on them and it distracts me, i never read the book that comes with the cards so it put me off them.

Oh, that sounds nice. I had a book on Motherpeace cards but didn't have the cards and finally gave the book away. I think the size of the book was really overwhelming to me.

HuggyBear · 01/11/2005 19:12

I was taught not to use the books at all, not even to open them, just get to know the cards and use your intuition, see what the colours mean to you and the symbols

Mystic familiar does a tarot circle on sunday at 9pm which is fab, Chi who hosts the circle is the most amazing man i have ever talked to spiritually, He is one of those people that is really wise and knows so much but with no ego, always willing to listen and teach. Hes, i cant even find the words for him lol - can you tell how much i respect him! Hes a very special person
