Presbyterian church in Ireland

My DH has been asked to be Godfather to our very dear friends' DS. He's being baptised in a Presbyterian church in Ireland and we'd like to give him a bible or similar. Which translation of the bible does the Presbyterian church in Ireland use? Don't want to cause offence by getting the wrong translation.

Thanks

Hi!

It's been a while since you posted this, so you might already have an answer...

If not, I'll reply to you just on the off chance you still need help....

I go to a Pres church in NI, and we use NIV versions of the Bible. Some people use different versions, such as NCV or even the King James Bible for the older more hardline people.

I don't think you'd cause offense one way or the other, but might be worth asking the person in the shop you buy the Bible in to make sure.
