Wiccans and Pagans, Happy Samhain!!!!

We are always excited about Halloween/Samhain at our house, so much fun to make costumes and all that.

On a spiritual note, my coven is getting together after trick or treating ends for a ritual. Since it is a New Moon and the Witch's New Year we are focusing on positive energy and hoping to promote a sea change in those around us. I've been a bit overwhelmed lately at the seemingly lack of respect for human life that I see around me, from overworked factory workers to a little boy (patient) at my office who lost his fingers in the outrageous violence in Sierra Leone. We will be tapping into the strong Mars energy tonight as well as the Mother Goddess energy of Yemaya.

Blessed Be,

JW

doormat · 31/10/2005 19:31

huggy can you heal people

WigWamBam · 31/10/2005 19:31

Yes, good, positive energy would be a good thing at the moment!

Happy Samhain!

HowlingHuggy · 31/10/2005 19:33

I take part in healing circles, some on line and some off line

I think we are all able to send healing, its the intent behind the energy that ensures it goes where its supposed too.

I really enjoy doing the healing circles

doormat · 31/10/2005 19:35

thats good huggy

HowlingHuggy · 31/10/2005 19:36

This is gonna sounds silly, but do i know you??? I dont know why but you feel very not so much familiar but sort of safe - lol told you it would sound silly!

jabberwitchy · 31/10/2005 19:44

I've been getting really excited about doing this ritual. My best friend and co-leader (that's the best term I can think of anyway, LOL) in the coven is mixing together some special oils for it. We going to use a beautiful scrying bowl that is silver on the outside and deep blue on the inside.

Each witch will swirl a bit of oil in the water and focus on positive, loving energy.

I'm off to grind incense.

That sounds lovely. Ive got my favourite one burning at them moment - its called nag champra or something.

With they scrying are you able to 'see' i havent tried it but read that if you use a mirror to scry its a good was to visualise your guides

doormat · 31/10/2005 19:49

huggy r u referring to knowing me or jabberwitchy

HowlingHuggy · 31/10/2005 19:49

you doormat

jabberwitchy · 31/10/2005 19:50

I'm relatively new to scrying, but at the last ritual I focused deeply into the water and tried to work out what visualizations were coming to me IYKWIM. I think it may get easier with practice.

Ive got runes too - cant quite get to grips with them though, they are pretty though, little amythist ones.

Ive got a cyrstal ball too but have never tried to see anything with it, i wouldnt have a clue how to start!

I think i'll stick to the cards and spirit readings, i know where i am with them!

I saw a medium at church last week and have never actually watched anyone do it before, it was strange seeing her talking to something only she could see

jabberwitchy · 31/10/2005 19:52

Oh, and we're all going to dress in black and wear witch's hats

HowlingHuggy · 31/10/2005 19:54

sounds fab

have you got a broomstick?

doormat · 31/10/2005 19:55

no huggy, I dont think I know you
I know you did a reading for me a couple of weeks ago
and silly as it may sound but people refer me as a safe homely person

jabberwitchy · 31/10/2005 19:56

I agree, the runes are difficult for me, too. What I have been doing is picking out one that "feels" right to me before certain rituals and then looking up the meaning for it. It's amazing how it coincides exactly with what I need for that particular spell. I've only done that a few times, though. I really love picking out stones to use on the altar. Good ones for tonight are bloodstone, garnet and jaspar.

Its nice though, familiar and safe and comfy. Its a nice quality to have - i like talking to you

jabberwitchy · 31/10/2005 19:56

Yes, as a matter of fact I do! It's got a gorgeous painted handle and sometimes I/we use it to cast the circle.
