How do you stop past resentments coloring the present?

How do you move on, make peace with yourself and others? I want to think more positively, and put more effort into my RL relationships (in particular with my husband).

Hallo Mummytosteven

I have been thinking about your post from your perspective in life. As I do remember reading once about how your social interactions are abit different, I wonder how you view peace within yourself and towards others?

I believe that life´s interactions are skills, tools that can be learnt and practised. So perhaps try to visualise the person you wish to be, the RL relationships that you wish to have and put them slowly but surely into practice. Love of yourself is the most important place to begin. The more trust, love, confidence you have in yourself, then the more you can share that love, trust and peace with others.

Little affirmations to carry you and remind through the day can help. I am unsure if you have ever had counselling etc, but I am sure from seeing your posts that you know of such ways.

Here is some information on healing within oneself and towards others.. here

Take care and good luck

paps - thanks very much for your (as ever thoughtful and beautifully worded post). I've not got time to give this and link a thorough read through now but will do soon.

I think RW has got the nail on the head as to what I meant in terms of forgiveness, and in terms of dropping resentments.
