Hi all, just wondered if anyone has any stories of meeting angels (apart from your DD or DS of course), you would be kind enough to share?

I have no personal experience, just like to hear of such things.

Nickschick, thankyou for posting that, its really helped me.
Last week I went to visit a the grave of a friend who died 25 years ago. I didn't know until then where it was.

I cried before I went but when I got there, it was so peaceful, I had a chat with her and finally got to say good bye. I left with a smile and a feeling of peace.

Last night I dreamt someone phoned me to say they had arranged for me to see my friend. I did and I got to hug her, and I told her I'd waited 25 years to see her. It was wonderful.

I wonder if this is because I finally have accepted her death too?

Well I do the parking angel song and can't remember the last time it let me down- even in the most packed of car parks.

I have read about the feathers -usually white I think -that fall to let one know that an angel is nearby/present? I have never really paid it much attention for as Himalaya says there are birds flying over all the time so dropped feathers must be floating around most of the time.
However ...however. I was diagnosed with cancer -aggressive and very large. I went with DH for my pre-op checks. In the waiting room we sat together for ages all on our own reading leaflets to pass the time and calm our nerves.
And down from the ceiling floated a feather. Just an ordinary feather -nothing remarkable if it had been outside. But this was a waiting room inside a large and winding hospital corridor. No openings to the outside and no passing traffic or movements of people while we were there.
Yes I was comforted by seeing that feather but I dint save it or revere it.Just marked its presence in my mind.

That was 6 years ago and I am still well.

I have a guardian angel - she was my great grannie (my Ma's grannie) and I often feel her around when I'm troubled or sometimes even when happy. The only time she wasn't around was when I lost my twins and I couldn't understand why, then finally I realised that it was because my Ma and DH were with me at the time and that they'd look after me and she and my grannie were looking after the DTs. Once Ma went home she came back. Ma often also feels her around and it was she who made me realise it was GranGran when DH and I moved into our first flat and she said she was around. She was a fantastic woman whom I love greatly and think about all the time. Grin

My Darling Grandpapa is my DSs guardian angel. He didn't get to meet DS2 as he'd died 11 months before DS2 was born, but I know he was around at DS2's baptism and I had great comfort from that. He was a wonderful man and both my boys have one of his names in their name.

Sorry, I didn't mean this to be so long!

I have to tell you of a weird thing that happens a lot in our house .........5ps!!! those little sparkly coins are everywhere ...... i find them on the floor,on top of the tv remote in a morning,in my shoe,in the toilet,on the floor in front of me in the supermarket .....on the mattress under the sheet.

Ds3 was born a long time after MIL died but he knows all about her ......he used to say 'we stayed together before I lived with you' he knows too much that general chit chat would reveal.

nickschick · 04/01/2011 22:09

Shitmonster I am so in awe of your hospital feather story - did you keep the feather??

shitmonster · 04/01/2011 22:59

No Nickschick I didn't. I didn't think it was appropriate IYSWIM. I had had the comfort I needed from it.
I left it where it was - possibly for another lady to pick up.Or not as the case may be. It was just an ordinary feather in an extraordinary situation.

NonnoMum · 04/01/2011 23:06

Thank you for sharing your stories.

indigobarbie · 04/01/2011 23:15

Thank you for sharing, I love hearing these stories.
Although I posted my blog address at the top of this post, it doesn't really contain a lot of my angel/loved ones/spirit/souls etc stories.

My Dad died earlier this year and a few months ago I was getting upset and went out into my back garden to think about him, and to get some fresh air. I looked down on the ground and there was a large black feather which I hadn't noticed when I first walked out. I took this as a hello sign. I was sharing this with my mum who said she had actually been out in her garden and found a black feather too. However, my sister - I was on the phone to her, telling her how mum and I had found black feathers and she said -'What? A black feather? So did I but I didn't think it meant anything, I thought it had to be white'. Amazing and lovely - we all had received a black feather. I take it this was my Dad saying Hello!

Let's face it, our loved ones can't just pick up the phone anymore, so they have to make the most of what's available to us. Even if it is a bird's feather - it's of no less significance Smile

Also, since having people move on I have had dreams about them and they are so real - I can remember when I wake up in great detail, also I receive information this way. Truly comforting and amazing.

I see feathers everywhere too, but it's mainly because the hens are moulting and they just make a mess Grin

I've had an experience with a loved one passing, not human but my dog!

When I was about 13 I was spending a week at my Gran's house in the summer hols, an annual holiday with my brother and cousins. On the last night there I dreamt that I was running along my favourite beach with my dog, who was not ancient and clapped out but young again. We reached the dunes at the end and he turned to me and spoke "you can't come with me, I have to go alone now" and I watched him run up the dune and away over the machair, I felt sad but knew I had to let him go.

The next day my parents arrived to take us home. When I walked into the house I heard the dog bark from the kitchen as he usually would, I called out to him and went to walk into the kitchen but mum and dad pulled my brother and I into the living room, sat us down with their arms around us and gently explained that the dog had had to be put to sleep the day before.

I had no way of knowing this, I truely believe that my beloved dog visited me to say goodbye, I had known him my whole life, (mum bought him when she pregnant with me).

DH tells me I'm making it up when I tell this story but hand on heart it is the truth and it comforts me greatly.

I often have angel dreams.

When I am particularly stressed or upset, deaths in the family etc. I've noticed lots of white feathers tend to blow into my house or land on the car, of just be around my children.

MummieHunnie · 15/01/2011 08:31

I believe in Angle's, don't forget that there are good and bad one's. The bad one's (deamons) will use any trickery too. I don't believe in ghost's, I think they are deamons trying to trick, I saw something when I was younger, I believe it was not of the good sort. If you read the bible you will see that people are not ghosts, when they are dead it is like they are asleep.

I don't think a good Angel who worships and works for God and human kind, would use the powers God gave them to find parking spaces.
