I think I'm a Quaker.

I have been reading up on it, and it somehow matches me. I thought that I was a bit of a spiritual floozy, believing what I wanted to, but now I think that maybe that's how it should be.

Any Quakers out there or anyone interested in a Quaker interest thread?

So how did meeting go this morning ConstanceFelicity? I'd love to know how you found it?

Oh, your post has just come up. Lovely.
I'm glad you found it refreshing.

Hi, I just wanted to add that I dabble in attendance at Quaker meetings. I really found the info pack they send from London interesting and useful. It included a book called The Light That is Shining that answered a lot of questions - recommend it!

Just found this thread and wanted to say so much of it chimes with my experience - I have been going to meetings for about 6 years and really admire the friends for what they do quietly and without fuss, and their unhurried approach to people finding their way with their own spiritual leanings.

Meeting has been an oasis to me during times of great difficulty. Funny how often what you think about in meeting - someone else will get up and talk about it! there is sometimes a feeling of strong connection - the quaker term is 'gathered meeting'. I am pretty pagan by nature but am inspired by the ethics and themes of christianity/quakers - anyhow i figure pagan and christian have lived side by side in Britain for many centuries, not mutually exclusive. Woodbrooke quaker centre has been known to do a course on green man! :)

Hi, I have a Buddhist(ish) upbringing but am very interested in the Quakers especially as I would like my children to have a faith, and feel that this faith is very child friendly and easy to grasp. What experience have others had with their families and being a Quaker?

I have been thinking about going to a QUaker meeting for some time now, ContanceFelicity for much the same reasons as you. I have been in contact with them but failed to actually make a meeting yet. Perhaps I should take the plunge this Sunday...

Cardibach, will be interested to hear how you find it.
