Tasteful Christmas cards with religious theme - proceeds going to charity

Hello, I want to buy my Christmas cards from a charity this year.

Does anyone have any recommendations please?

I want them to (a) be tasteful (b) depict a religious scene and (c) proceeds must go to good works etc

I'm Roman Catholic so a Catholic charity would be good (but not essential)

Have already bought some from Riding for the Disabled but now looking for some religious cards too.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

I normally buy my cards from Charity Cards UK but nothing in their choice inspires me very much this year -

Childaid (supports children in orphanages in Russia - particularly those with special needs)

Have had lovely cards from them before.

Scroll down for the Christmas cards - some of them religious.

If you shop on amazon, and enter amazon through the window on their site, 5% of what you spend goes to Childaid (no extra cost to you).

I suppose you want recycled paper too? Grin

You could try Oxfam, or Traidcraft.

Thank you for that link leavingonajetplane I particularly love the icons! Also, I hadn't realised that about Amazon and never thought of searching there - so thanks again!

Admit that I had forgotten about recyclable materials greenlotus Blush thanks for reminder and links!

Traidcraft are really good. They had some lovely designs and the cards are high quality (I was disappointed by how flimsy Oxfam ones were). You can get them online, along with lots of other Christmas stuff, or your parish may well sell them via any fair-trade or Cafod fundraising they do. The profits are split between Cafod, Sciaf and Christian Aid.

Their wrapping paper is really good qualiy too, and they sell nice advent calendars that have a religious theme (or even better one with fair-trade chocolate!)

Yes, I was going to suggest Cafod/Christian Aid cards.

We buy religious ones from the Church of England www.chpublishing.co.uk/listing.asp?id=2396358&txtCurrentProductPage=1 which support ministry and training in the CoE,

Actually I am particular about having religious theme cards for the DC's to use (rebel against Santa/penguin onslaught) and was disappointed that Traidcraft don't have any suitable in their mini cards this year, but like these from Oxfam.
