Internal voice/God? who do you talk to?

I was pondering the other night about prayer, and from an atheist point if view prayer is something where people talk to themselves, and how the Christian/monotheist/any religious person may consider that they talk to God.

So who do you speak to? I'm really interested to hear if Christians talk to themselves or always to God when they have a problem and then how atheists deal with problems, do they have internal dialogue?

I speak to God/Jesus. I speak to him as if I were having a conversation with a close friend who knows everything about me. I don't usually speak out loud. I believe He hears me and knows what my prayers will be, even before I know them myself.

I speak to God (internally) when I want to speak to God, and I have internal conversations with myself when that's what I want to do. The two things are quite different to me, even though I'm not sure I could define the difference in any way which would be meaningful to someone else!
