What do you love about your church?

I have been thinking about this a lot today and I think the main things that spring to mind are:

  • that it is so welcoming to people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures (it is an International Church - the service is in English but the congregation is made up of many different nationalities)
  • the music (modern Pentacostal church with music along the lines of Hillsong)
  • the kids - there are so many children/teens/young adults who are members
  • that it is so alive and growing! Word of our worship is spreading throughout our community and each Sunday seems to bring more people to church
  • Its pastoral care - offering practical as well as spiritual help for those in need (believers or not) in the local community
  • Feeling blessed and loved. I feel an incredible peace and sense of belonging every time I worship.

And I have only been a member of this church for 6 months Grin

I love our church.

It is a parish church so all-age, plus university students. I love the wisdom and witness of the older people and the enthusiasm of the young.

We have 4 services every Sunday, so there is something for everyone (but we do come together as one big church family several times a year).

We have expository preaching which turns out to be really deep and challenging, and stimulating. We only teach from the Bible.

We believe strongly in mission, and this is at the heart of everything we do. We break down barriers between church and community.

We are a big church (- approx 450 every Sunday), so we can support lots of different groups and not too many of us are stretched to breaking point.
