This may sound totally weird but does anyone ever think they have some sort of telepathic link with their children?

As the title says, am I the only one who often finds themselves thinking about something, only for dc to ask exactly that, despite it being a totally random thought that you didn't say out loud?

It has happened to me twice last week. Dd came home from school on MOnday saying that the boys had been mean to her, kicking and pushing her. I comforted her but didn't make a big deal of it. A couple of days later I was driving along, thinking about her at school and hoping she was OK when ds (2.5) said 'mummy, are the boys pushing my sister again?'.

Both ds and dd often say out loud exactly what I'm thinking.

Slightly different- on Friday I drove out of a shop with ds who kept asking 'where is the pink bus?'. I kept saying there aren't any pink buses, lets look for a blue one but he was insistent. He eventually calmed down and five minutes later we pulled up to a T junction and a bloody big pink bus drove past.

I'm sure there is some rational explanation for all of these but can they all be massive coincidences? Dh just scoffs at me Blush

That's true, I often wake up minutes before the dc wake up. Logically I suppose they must start making different noises in their sleep just before waking up and I pick up ont he changes but it's still weird (and I'm one of the most logcial people ever!)

When dd1 was one day old, she had to have a line put in the back of her hand (needle). She was asleep, and the paediatrician was 'working' on her on a bed just next to where I was sitting (having just had a c-section). I couldn't see dd as the paed had her back to me, and was inbetween us.

We were chatting (ie she was trying to keep me calm, I was very anxious she might hurt dd) and I felt a sudden sharp pain in the back of my left wrist: I looked to see what I'd caught my hand on, a safety pin or something? Nothing, not a mark on me, nothing sharp around. A second later the paed turned to me and said 'see, all done, she didn't even wake up'.

I swear I felt the needle go in to dd's hand - very, very odd.

Yes, I have 4 dcs and am very telepathic with DC1, and to a certain extent with DC2. The others, I don't think so. With DC 1 we have joked about the fact he has no secrets (aged 19 Smile) as if we are in proximity to each other we frequently find ourselves following the other one's train of thought. It's weird, but feels normal after so long. Its most evident if we are in a car but has happened over much longer distances.
