DS is being baptised on Sunday into Catholic church. Catechist came yesterday to give us the lowdown. Apparently we get to do a bidding prayer and DH wants to write our own. He's the Catholic, I'm the one with a reasonable grasp of English.
Please help! All the prayers we have seen are terribly written and imo really saccharine. It's being read by the only practicing Catholic on my side of the family who has problems with her jaw so it can't be too long.
This is our first attempt.
God our Father, we ask you to give (DS) your blessing as he is welcomed into your Church today. We ask that his life gives happiness and joy to his family.
Lord hear us.
Any suggestions for improvements or additions would be welcome. We need it sorted for tomorrow morning.
