Muslim baby head shaving

hi can you lovely muslim ladies tell me about shaving your babies heads. Do all babies have it done and what if any celebrations do you have.

I am not muslim but would wish you all a happy eid.

I think there is an opinion that you don't have to do it to girls, but I know others people who have done it for girls too (not really looked into it as we have got boys), but its recommended for us to do and very easy/not a big deal we just shave it when they are young (ideally 7 days) and weigh it then give that worth of silver for charity
we do aqeeqah too round the same time, where an animal is slaughtered and give the meat to the poor (or some people cook the meat for themselves/family), we have just sent money back home for our aqeeqahs to be done there, i dont think many people would do it themselves here in the uk? Some people have a party for aqeeqah too but not all, if they do they will just cook some of that meat and give food to people just an excuse for a get together and celebration really?
