if I didnt attend my service today as I am just so tired, would have to spend money I havent really got on public transport and have lots of ironing to do. Plus I would miss the re-run of last nights x-factor.

The re-run of last night's X-factor is probably not the best excuse...

SuperstarInTheGhetto · 28/08/2005 08:29

Heh heh I shouldnt have mentioned x-factor. I will go to the open church sometime this week and worship alone but I so need a day to myself but I feel so guilty!

Can I ask why you feel you must go to church weekly? Does personal prayer not fulfil your needs or is there some imperative from the church to worship en masse x amount of times?

(interested non-believer in organised religion)

I suppose I do get more out of the congragational service and when the pastor is giving the sermon I totally can listen and agree with it and when I come out it helps me to be a better person all that week until the next sunday if you understand? I really am not a nice person in RL. I just have anger problems and get really frustrated with people and life in general sometimes but through the church worship I feel as if I have had some inspiration to be a nicer person and therefore I sometimes am. If I dont go then I probably won't bother praying at all because I usually cannot think of what to pray about at home but I can quite easily with other people around me in the church. Sorry if it doesnt make any sense!

so if you go you'll feel better about yourself and have a better week?

think that's a bit of a no-brainer then

Your life seems to run in parallel with another poster, maybe you should try and hook up with their threads.

SuperstarInTheGhetto · 28/08/2005 08:46

Yes Twiglett, I will have more inspiration to behave myself if I go but not neccessarily have a better week. Having a better week depends on what I do. Thanks very much indeed for your replies but I have decided to stay home and maybe attend something in the week if I feel the need to. I dunno really, I just feel like going to church makes me a better person and mayne when I have been to God's House as it is I will have more guidance through this time in my life. Sorry I've gone on a bit
