Okay, this could be total nonsense but anyway...
For a few weeks' now I've noticed an intermittent smell of burning in our front room. We haven't been able to track it down but yesterday decided it was dust on back of TV, so gave it a good clean.
We've also been getting glitches with the DVD player but it still works okay.
Last night dd1 and I stayed up to watch a programme recorded through our sky box then went to bed. So everything was fine, connected up and nothing had come loose.
I got downstairs this morning to find that the rf leads connecting the DVD player to the TV and the SKY box had been disconnected.
I can't decide if this is a co-incidence caused by us cleaning the telly - but wouldn't they have come loose straight away - an RF lead takes a bit of pulling out, it couldn't have just fallen unless it was so loose as not to have worked last night, IYSWIM. And would two connections from very different places have come loose? (The connections were intact on the DVD box itself, one had come loose from the SKY box and teh otehr from the television which is at a totally different angle.
Or should I just go and get a new DVD player today????
