Does anyone want to have a group meditation sometime ?I used to meditate regularly and have fallen off the wagon recently (or should that be meditation cushion?) and I fancy getting into the routine again.

It would be nice if anyone wants to join me.

Hi Wisteria, in the past I meditated at the chinese buddhist temple in central London (behind Oxford St), I went to a few kadampa things before that and at the moment, I sit with a small group that is part of the Samatha Trust (a lay theravada group, mainly breath counting and everyday awareness).

If you like maranatha meditation, the other one is the Jesus Prayer / Prayer of the Heart: 'Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner' - some say to recite the first half on the in breath, the rest on the outbreath. It can be chanted out loud or internally. It's from an ancient eastern orthodox tradition. Apparently the real meaning of mercy is 'loving kindness', its asking the divine for love and healing (so I have read - I'm no expert!)

Off course there are buddhist/hindu chants too, but I don't find them as appealing - probably a cultural thing.

Hi Nemo, I was thinking more like:

(inbreath) your-avin-a-tin-bath-aincha
(outbreath) geroffa-my-manor

or

(inbreath) you're havin a tin-bath
(out) or-is-it-me ?

:)

Would love to try teaching that one in a class and see how long it took for students to twig!
