Christian books for sunday school

Our local church is inching towards some sort of provision for the increasing number of small childen who attend. Currently the only books in the annexe where children can go during the service are old Disney books-terrible. Vicar says that we can buy some more approprate books, but
a) I don't know what's good
b) I don't know where to look.

What should we get, and where should we buy it from? Most children are 2-4 currently, a few a little older.

Thank you!

Scripture Union have an online shop with books for children; also the big Christian publishers, Lion Hudson, have a lot of children's books for various ages.

There is also an online christian bookshop at www.eden.co.uk that I've used. Our local christian bookshop has a selection including nice board books about different characters in the bible etc

I run a church toddler group and managed to get a lovely selection of bible story board books (Noah, Daniel, David and Goliath, First Christmas etc) from The Works on the high street. I paid between £1 and £2 each for them.
I also got a large My First Bible which is lovely for reading to a group and various bible story sticker books too from the same place!

We also have a diocese library which is useful.

I use Eden.co.uk quite a lot. They have a huge section for kids books, everything from bibles to colouring books and all things in between also things like jigsaws and little toys.

I recently bought Desmond Tutu's bible story book called Children of God, it is beautiful, also a bunch of little storybooks for early readers or to share with younger children called something like Read Together, they are small white books called things like I'll Pray Anyway (Daniel) and Good, Better, Best (Mary and Martha.) Veggie Tales are good for littlies, my youngest loves them. Zondervan's Beginner's Bible is good and the Lion storybooks are full of good stuff. Mick Inkpen (the Kipper guy) has 2 fabulous books called Animal Tales and Stories Jesus Told, there are activity books that go with them as well. All 5 of my kids have loved these and mine are just about falling to bits now.

For older kids things like Bible Detectives are good, also a series that has things like 50 craziest/goriest/wildest bible stories. The Jesus Big Storybook Bible is really, really nice as well and is a great read aloud.

so sorry not to have come back here for so long - fantastic suggestions, thank you all so much.
Nice to hear a vote for the Mike Inkpen ones, I saw them on Amazon and was wondering if they would be any good.
Will have a proper look and a plan.
