I am getting 2 female kittens next weekend and am soooo excited

One is brown & the other black. They are sisters and adore each other so it would have been cruel to seperate them

ATM they are 6wks old and are eating food although the black one is small and not eating much yet.

What do I need to buy for them, essentials etc???

I already have ceramic food bowls and dried food. ATM they are being fed whiskers adult cat food so want to change that asap. Do I need to do it gradually and what is the best food?

I also have a scratching post as I want to preserve my lovely sofa

A cat bed, couple of toys (more for your benefit than theirs) litter tray and litter.
Kitten food.

Do you have a room they can stay in over night that you can 'kitten proof'? That was a life saver for us when we got ours.

I'm wondering if they are a bit young to leave their Mum? Not sure what the current recommendations are.

They were 6 weeks on Thursday.

They are still with their mum for at least another week and tbh if they are not ready to leave her then I will delay it for another week as the mother is owned by my neighbours

Have pencilled in trip to pet shop to get all I need.

I got two one year old girl cats recently and I would strongly recommend more than one scratch post. I have one in the kitchen where they stay at night, one in the lounge and then one on the landing at the top of the stairs. Might seem a bit OTT but they had to stay in a while before they had jabs and it saved our furniture! They are outside most of the time now but still use all three posts when they are in.

thanks for the tip on the scratch posts

I will definately be doing that as I am desperate to preserve my sofa
