we have lots of Gpigs - and they live (at the moment) in large runs in the garden with plastic dome houses to sleep in / get out of sun.

Any hoo, was huggling one of the younger ones earlier and noticed small white ish crawly things in the fur (he's a black winnywig)

any way, they all have them, not loads, but a few - only noticed them today (check them regularly and clipped their claws at the weekend and they didnt have them then)

So, have bathed them all in insectiside shampoo (Johnsons) what else do I do?

Are you 100% certain these are not maggots? In this hot weather flys can lay eggs that hatch out in a matter of hours and can start to eat the animal . Please double check and if that is what these may be (all be it very small perhaps) then you need to contact the vet asap. If they are are very small maggots it may not be immediately obvious that they are damaging the guinea pig.

Agree with beautifulgirls, it's this time of year we see fly strike at its worst.

They can cause massive damage in a very short period of time.

I would advise contacting your vet in the morning and ideally having a couple of your pigs checked over (maybe ask if they stock Xeno, which is a really good product for parasites in small furries).

Just wondering how your piggies are today? I hope they're doing okay.
