Cat allergy?

I've had cats all my life, but just recently if my cat is friendly and rubs up against me, my eyes puff up and itch like crazy. I can't be allergic can I?

I adore my cat and cannot even think of being without her. Could it just be the warm weather making her moult more?

You can develop an allergy at any time. We had cats all through my childhood but I start the hayfever symptoms as soon as I touch one these days. I'm also allergic to our guinea pigs and the horses my DD spends every waking moment with so I use and an antihistamine to control it.
