What questions do I ask breeder of Cav KC?

Am ensuring both parents there. Have already asked about insurance, vet check, injections. Anything else? Do I need to be asking about hip scores? (and what is a good one?) And anything else?

Thanks!

Cavaliers have a lot of health problems that you need to check for.

www.cavalierhealth.org/questions_for_breeder.htm

I think the average hip score for cavaliers is about 16. You want to get a score lower than this - the lower the better 0 is the best. It is often given as two numbers (one for each hip) e.g. 1-4 total =5 that would be a good score.

Don't necessarily worry if you can't see the sire (Dad) as breeders often use a stud from a long way away. See the litter with mum & how clean it looks, do they look healthy. Does the breeder ask you lots of questions and are they happy to answer yours?

Also ask what they are being fed so you can stick to the same diet

If there is anything you are unhappy with, walk away. Don't be tempted to buy a puppy that you feel sorry for. you won't be helping as more will be bred to take its place.
