New kitten - male or female?

We already have two neutered female cats, aged 2 and 10. Both are domestic shorthairs, not pedigrees. They get on OK. One of our friends cats has had 4 kittens (also domestic shorthairs), we have promised to have one when it is ready to leave its mother (late Aug). The kitten would be neutered, but should we choose a male or female? What do we need to consider when deciding which kitten to choose?

I have both and I think it depends on the individual how friendly they are...I'm going to be really unhelpful and suggest you get one of each :D

female. All the cats I know who have ishooes with weeing in improper places are boy cats.

Thanks Countrygirl, I'd like two but I think one will be enough! And thanks IPredict, I've heard that about boy cats too, the litter is 3 girls 1 boy so I think we'll go for a girl.
