I'm in a rush right now so can't give all the details, but puppies are due today and parents are tested!

Need to find out price but location is good. I'll have more details tonight

Has DH done the sensible thing and agreed yet?!

kid · 25/06/2010 07:51

Lol, of course
I was just about to post that he has agreed. I just need to ask the breeder a couple of questions and then it's all go.

I just want her to confirm the puppy has been reserved for us before I can relax.

Hooray!

So pleased for you kid

oiteach · 25/06/2010 14:33

really pleased, that's lovely news.

I did email MIL for you but she hasn't replied yet......

kid · 25/06/2010 16:22

No name yet but several in mind, please feel free to share any suggestions. I want a name that we all agree on.

Still not heard from breeder, I'm guessing she has a life, unlike me!
I have emailed her my number and to say we do want the pup. Hopefully I'll hear from her soon

I'm not feeling very hopeful about the pups now.
The breeder has been in touch and has 3 people booked in to see the puppies. She has promised 1 pup to someone who's dog was recently run over. It was from a previos litter. She doesn't know if they want a boy or girl at the moment, the dog that died was a boy so I reckon they will want another boy.

It's not fair! I guess everything happens for a reason but I was so sure thus was the pup for me, I'm gutted

she will let me know if they want the only male from the litter, please keep your fingers crossed for us x

Would you not consider a bitch puppy? I much prefer bitches to dogs, I have to say.

I wouldn't worry too much if the breeder takes a while getting back to you, newborn puppies take a lot of time and need absolutely constant supervision, so unless she can get online whilst in view of/next to the pups, she may have to wait until someone else can watch them and she can take a break.

Also, I wouldn't have thought she'd absolutely reserve a puppy for you until she has met you. (I know I wouldn't) Although she might agree to not let anyone else have it until she has met you.

kid · 25/06/2010 19:58

What will be will be I suppose. I just set my heart on this one, that will teach me to make assumptions.
I can only visit her at weekends. I have asked her to let me know as soon as possible. I am assuming we have lost our chance to home this puppy.
I am literally on the verge of giving up now, am so upset

Kid - everything happens for a reason and you will get that perfect dog at some point. Don't despair. Keep up the search while you wait to hear about this pup and you just never know.

kid · 25/06/2010 22:15

The only box this pup didn't tick was the colour. We wanted a black and white boy, this one is liver and white which we were willing to accept as it met every other requirement.

I am also a believer in everything happens for a reason. But, I don't like the wait and am so fed up with endless searches without any luck.

I have found so many litters and had to dismiss them for one reason or another.
There has got to be a better way for me to search rather than trailing through hundreds of ads. Why oh why did this dog only have one boy? How inconsiderate lol

dont know if this is any help. May be worth contacting them
puppies due end July

kid · 25/06/2010 23:16

Thats the same dad
and I think I might have contacted them already. I will have to double check my emails.

I have contacted another breeder about a litter that are a couple of weeks old at the moment. They have 4 or 5 boys (can't remember exact number now). They live a bit further away than the litter I have been posted about but I am not going to rule them out.

I am also not going to post loads of details about them until I hear back from them. Please don't let them take forever to put me out of my misery.

Going to check my emails now about the litter you posted

If it doesn't work out with this breeder, why not ask her if she knoes of any other litters due soon nearby? I would have thought she'd know of any decent ones.

Don't give up hope, you really haven't been looking very long, and seeing as the best breeders normally have quite a few bookings before the even mate the bitch, it can take a while. It's worth being a bit flexible on dates to get the right pup.

kid · 25/06/2010 23:44

I know I really need to take my time with this.
I just really wanted to get the dog on that date as I will have 2 weeks off work to settle the dog in and start toilet training.

I work in a school so our next block of time off would be Christmas which is when we got Moby.

I must stay positive and stop obsessing about getting a dog. But, once I set my heart on something, I usually don't stop until I get it!

(Midori, I have just sent you an email that I'd really appreciate you looking at when you get the time.)

I have found my next litter, didn't take long!

All the same requirements have been met, health screened, distance (bit further but not the end of the world), fair price, right colouring, right sex.
I've been in touch with the breeder and all being well, I can visit next weekend. Really hope we get our fuel card in time so we won't even have to pay the petrol, will know by Tuesday, which seems forever away.

My son has a name for the pup already, I'm not sure though but he really wants to call him Mojo. One of its meanings is 'Lucky Charm' which is lovely.x

So, fingers crossed for me and my new puppy please. I have asked permission to share the photos of him, will wait until I hear back before adding them to my profile.

bumpybecky · 26/06/2010 21:06

fingers crossed that it happens for you this time

kid · 26/06/2010 22:41

I have been in touch with breeder for the 5th time today! We have been emailing eachother, I haven't bombarded her constantly

I will know by Tuesday if I will have the fuel card by the weekend (which will mean not paying for petrol for our 6 hour drive!)

She has so kindly agreed to not let any other viewers have 'my' pup.

I just pray the fuel card will be ready by Saturday and then we will be able to go and give the pup the biggest cuddle ever and pay the deposit to guarantee he is ours.

So MNers, get praying please!

How long does it take a company to organise a fuel card anyway? They couldn't order the card before they get the registration of the new car which they are delivering on Monday. So exciting, a new car, a fuel card AND a new puppy! I'm not spoilt, honestly
