Boosting a pups immune system?

Lola my 8 month old SBT pup has mites
She has lots of baldness on her face and some patches appearing on her body now, we have seen the vet and are starting treatment tommorrow, bathing her weekly in a solution to kill the mites.

I have done some reading on this and its down to a low immunity in the puppy that causes the mites to be a problem.

So I was wondering if there is anything else I could do to try and boost her immunity maybe?

Any advice appreciated!

This sounds like demodectic mange from what you say - It is usually an age related thing in young dogs and the majority of cases will improve as they get older. Some cases will not need any treatment, but others that are more severely affected like your dog will usually do very well with the washes you are using. I would do as the vet instructs and ensure she is on a good quality diet and otherwise looked after in all the usual doggy ways (as I am sure you already are doing.)

This range is fantastic and the guy who runs our pet shop says it's the best stuff he's ever stocked. The herbolistic should help I'd imagine Healthy Paws

Thanks for replys
beautifulgirls Yes that is what she has, the vet said that she may grow out of it but doesn't want to risk it, so we are going to be bathing her in the solution weekly and having regular skin scrapings.

leanto We don't intend to breed from her anyway! Too many SBT's in rescue already, plus far too much work for me!

jonicomelately Thanks for the link, will take a proper look at that!
