dogs and bee stings - what to do?

my dog is going to end up stung this summer if she isnt careful.

ive got bumble bees nesting in the garage and she keeps trying to catch them as they fly out. she got one today. it must have been really placid as it didnt sting - but sooner or later i feel she will annoy one enough.

what do you do if they get stung in the mouth? she is driving me insane with them - but i cant stand over her and in this heat ive left the patio door open so she is in and out all the time.

If she gets stung by a bee and you can see the sting then try and remove it. You should probably call the vet for advice at that point, but it is worth having some piriton tablets to hand (or syrup) as the vet may just advise you to use something like that. However, don't use without checking first please - and be aware that this is not sufficient for some reactions and the vet may need to see the dog to give something that is stronger and/or acts faster by injection.

My pup got stung when he was only about 11 weeks old, right on the end of his nose. Called the vet and was just told to keep a very close eye on him for 24 hours incase of a reaction. All he did was sneeze constantly which was actually quite cute. He wasn't in any discomfort and was still happy like usual. Was fine by the next morning.

I'm thinking the same about my 8mnth old pup. She stalks the bees in the garden, so it's only a matter of time.
I remember my last dog being stung, she flew in from the garden and run up me!! My pup is a giant breed so if she reacts like this it'll be like being trampled by a horse!!
