Ok, I admit it, I am obsessed...

..with looking at dog rescue centres online to check which dogs have been lucky enough to be rehomed!

There was a real cutie (in a weird sort of way!) at Battersea. He is a Saluki, which is a breed I had never heard of. He has just been rehomed and that made me really happy even though I have never even met the dog!

Does that make me a saddo or a kind, caring person?

Nah, that makes you a dog mad person but that is a good thing. We had a year between our old dog being put to sleep and our puppy coming to us. It was a really tough year. I couldn't get a pup straight away as I was pregnant and it was just not the responsible thing to do. Fast forwards 10 months and Christmas time came, I cried my eyes out missing my old girl and knew I had to start doing something in the new year to fill that hole. Thankfully the new baby is a nice easy thing (now 7 months old) and after much obsession about a dog we finally got a new puppy a year after our old lady went. She is almost 5 months old now and has helped me to move on a stage in grieving. I still miss the old girl, but I have adjusted to it and can accept it. Meanwhile I have a whole new bundle of energy to play with too and love her to bits.

Good luck on the dog hunt. Think positive, if you see dogs you love the look of now, there will be other ones that you will love too when the right time comes. You will make a stray very happy in the future.

I have just spent the whole morning looking at dog rehoming centres! I really want a dog but I have 3 cats, (1 who is really old and quite poorly), and my youngest DC is only 3, so probably not the best time for me to be thinking about it. I've just seen a lovely black lab x though, cat friendly and child friendly and she's gorgeous. I am soooooo tempted.

Oh I do this. All the time. My mum sent me the link when I was ill in bed with swine flu and now I can't stop looking! Although with me it's choosing which one I'd like to rehome, all things being equal.

DP thinks I'm weird.

I'm sorry but I looked at a very old post about rehomed dogs and it just struck a cord with me because I rehomed a dog 40 years ago and I still grieve about it today. I saw that you felt the same about one you lost 33 years ago.
