i have caught my cat many times trying to get into the dses bedroom. when the door has been left open i will find him in the cot (yuck). and now we have a play corner in our living room where ds2 (1 year) plays. as soon as i put ds to bed in the evenings the cat will go straight to that spot and curl up.

what is it about ds2 that he likes so much?

Because areas which are baby-sized & comfy are also cat-sized & comfy. Plus often warm where you've taken the baby away. Sharing the same space should reduce his allergy risks
